Situated at 213 metres above sea level, Bhalukpong is the entry point to Arunachal and is 56 kms from Tezpur. The place is famous for archaeological ruins of King Bhaluka who was the grandfather of King Bana of Mahabharata fame and an ancient ruler of the region. A historical fort of 10th-12th Century AD is situated in the foothills of the region and one can see the stone remains of the fort. AT NAMERI NATIONAL PARK

RAFTING in the gentle rapids of the Jia Bhoroli river meant for entire family is an enjoyable float trip with possible sighting of a variety of birds.

Jeep safari and elephant safari are not permitted in the Nameri National Park.
